Opened this after dinner and the nose hit me with leather and sandalwood before I even poured it — exactly what the description promised. That roast apricot note carries through the sip, and the acidity keeps it lively instead of heavy.
That rounded acidity from the long fermentation really comes through on the palate, like a funky natural wine but with that smoky mezcal backbone. The roast apricot note is the star for me, it lingers nicely after each sip. Killed the bottle way faster than I planned.
The leather and sandalwood on the nose is spot-on, but the roast apricot note is what really sells it for me. Poured a glass after dinner and the natural wine funkiness came through beautifully, making it dangerously easy to sip on slowly.
